Transparent business, stupid!
In his weekly column "Max's Column" for TBmagazine, Maxim Behar talks about the difficulties and changes in the Bulgarian economy and business and the only force that counts - experience.
Lately, we have been returning more and more often to President Bill Clinton's legendary campaign words - "The economy, stupid!", I will try to correct them very slightly.
Societies are now changing at the speed of light and the word 'economy' itself is so relative and general, and the elements in it are now different. The economy can be grey, illegal, unregulated, dominant, and whatnot...
Many years ago, when asked what I meant by "business ethics", my answer was quite simple and understandable - to make profits transparently. Clearly, in business we need to make profits - after all, that is the goal if we are to be able to grow at all. But if those profits are transparent to everyone, then they can indeed be ethical. And that is exactly what societies need now and in the future. Especially Bulgarian society.
