And now Austria…

In his weekly column "Max's Column" for TBmagazine, Maxim Behar talks about the difficulties and changes in the Bulgarian economy and business and the only force that counts - experience.

We are blaming Austria for the fact that the negotiations for Bulgaria to join the desired Schengen area have been going on for 15 years. Who else could be to blame? Can we blame Bulgaria?

Here the issue is not about blaming, but about the attitude that some Bulgarian Businesses have and are trying to promote as public opinion in recent days, calling for boycott of Austrian goods, initiating tax audits in big Austrian companies and talking all over the place that this is the only way to force the austrians to quickly accept us in Schengen.

However, not only Austria, but whole Europe is aware that the Bulgarian borders are like an open field, that almost every day the police catch vehicles full with emigrants who have entered Bulgaria illegally. And many other issues!

We have centuries-old friendship with Austria and it was precisely Austrian businesses that strongly supported us, and still do in order for the Schengen borders to open for Bulgaria. Let's not close them ourselves again…
