Mandatory summer vacation

In his weekly column "Max's Column" for TBmagazine, Maxim Behar talks about the difficulties and changes in the Bulgarian economy and business and the only force that counts - experience.

We anticipate summertime from the beginning of autumn, and I have no idea why. Perhaps it's some old tradition or something ingrained in our DNA that we can only take a vacation during that time. We've even called it a "summer vacation" and don't acknowledge any other.

But the world has changed completely, and reflex alone is not a sufficient reason to automatically make summer the only vacation season. Quite the opposite - each year, I'm more convinced summer is the best time to get your work done peacefully. Because everyone is on vacation, we can work without the stress of a hundred people breathing down our neck and five times as many clients wanting something. That is why, at least for now, let's keep repeating this mantra that summer is the only vacation season so that we, the others, can calmly get a lot more work done.
